Happy Mothers DayDear Brothers and Sisters,

The Care Act (Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act) provides forgivable loans through the Small Business Administration for the purpose of payroll protection. I am very happy to inform you that we were successful in acquiring the government loan for our employees, including the school.   Our ability to retain staff and maintain services in these extraordinary times is of the utmost importance.

I also want to thank you for your generous support for the beloved Basilica during the unprecedented economic effects of the pandemic. Please continue doing so. Although the ministry of the church is being done creatively and differently it is still God’s work. We will be reunited liturgically one day.

Todays first reading(Acts 6:1-7) reminds us about being sensitive to the welfare of others. Perhaps you can reach out to your family,  friends and neighbors who might need your help such as phone calls, grocery shopping, grass mowing or whatever their wants would be.

Let us keep our sense of solidarity and humor.

I wish a happy Mother’s Day to all mothers and mothers to be.

With prayers,

Fr. Ryszard
