Many years ago,  we started holding Yard Sales to benefit the Center. Over time, it has evolved into a very successful fundraiser.  It takes place  twice a year, spring and fall.  A large team of people, headed up by Marie King, work on it for months, as it takes lots of preparation. We receive all sorts of donations that we are able to offer for sale such as exercise equipment, home decor items, collectibles, sporting equipment, books, antiques, housewares and much, much more.

One hundred percent of the profits go directly to the Center to offset expenses for our Work for Rent program. We pick up furniture donations and deliver them to families in need with the help of workers that we ‘pay’ by writing a check towards their rent or a bill.

The fall yard sale is taking place this weekend; stop in after mass to see if you can find a few treasures!

Another fundraiser for the Center is our Annual Quarter Auction. JoAnn Daley started us off with our first one a few years back. It has proven to be such a popular event that people now look forward to every year.    This year’s event will take place next Saturday, October 28.  There will be a wide variety of prizes donated from many generous individuals and businesses. Items are bid on, using quarters, and the winner is determined by drawing numbers, bingo style. Lunch is available. It’s a fun day with lots of socializing.   Tickets are $5.00;  if you are interested check with the Church Office or the Center to see if any tickets are still available.

Dozens of our volunteers help with these functions donating their time or contributing towards prizes. I’m very thankful to all of them for their continued loyalty and support.
