My Dear Friends,
This weekend, Catholic Christians celebrate the Third Sunday of Easter.
In today’s Gospel selection from St. Luke (24: 35-48), we hear the story of what has become known as the “Emmaus journey.” In the story, the risen Jesus suddenly begins walking with two of his disciples. At first, they thought they were seeing a ghost, but Jesus assured them he was the risen Jesus.
Then, Jesus began engaging in Bible Studies, showing them how the Scripture – which was only the Old Testament at that time – referred to him.
On another note, I’m delighted to report that our parish has surpassed our Bishop’s Annual Appeal (BAA) goal. All the money we have raised over our goal will be for our own parish projects. Congratulations and thank you!
Sincerely yours in Christ,
– Father Bob
