My Dear Friends,
This weekend, Catholic Christians celebrate the Fifth Sunday of Lent.
On this weekend, we hear the story of story of Jesus raising his friend Lazarus from the dead (John 11: 1-45).  As you may remember, Lazarus was the brother of Mary and Martha, two other friends of his.  Although he had been in the tomb for four days, Jesus called out, “Lazarus, come out!”  At this, Lazarus rose from the dead with his burial clothes still on.  Many came to believe in him.  In the early Church, the rising of Lazarus was a very popular story for artists to paint.

Many thanks go to Penny Cromer and her team for once again staging a beautiful and successful One Cup of Tea event.  This annual event raises money for SaludHondu, the branch of St. Mary Sister Parish Ministry that raises money for the healthcare projects of our sister parish, including Clínica Santa María in Reitoca, F.M., Honduras.  Currently, Dr. John Cromer heads up SaludHondu’s board.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

–  Father Bob
