My Dear Friends,
On Tuesday of this week, August 15th, the Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of the Assumption of Mary into heaven. This is a holy day of obligation. We will have 4 Masses that day: 7:30 a.m. in English; 12:10 p.m. in English; 5:30 p.m. in English; and 7 p.m. in Spanish.
This doctrine holds that because Mary was born without original sin (Immaculate Conception), she was not liable for the punishments of original sin.

School is also right around the corner. If you have not yet made plans for the new school year, I strongly encourage you to consider St. Mary School for your children’s education. Our School has classes from pre-K-3 through 8th grade. We are the oldest and finest Catholic School in North Carolina, and we consistenly are always in the top tier in science, the arts, and overall quality. Our staff would be very happy to discuss St. Mary School! Please call 762-5491 x 140.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
– Father Bob
