My Dear Friends,
Today Catholic Christians celebrate the 12th Sunday in Ordinary Time.  On this day, we read in the Gospel of Matthew how Jesus told his disciples, “Have no fear of the one who would destroy the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.  Are not two sparrows sold for a small coin?  Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s knowledge” (Matthew 10: 28-29).

This Thursday, June 29th, Catholic Christians celebrate the Feast of Ss. Peter and Paul.  For basilicas of the world, this is a special day.  Although it is not a holy day of obligation, basilicas are required to celebrate the day as a special solemnity.  Therefore, in addition to our 7:30 a.m. Mass, we will also have a 12:10 p.m. Mass on that day.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

-           Father Bob
