My Dear Friends,
Today Catholic Christians celebrate the Feast of Pentecost, the birthday of the Catholic Church in particular, and Christianity in general.  It was on this day that the Holy Spirit came upon the early disciples in the form of tongues of fire (Acts 2: 1-11).  The Spirit brought them many gifts including zeal and courage and the ability to speak in various languages.  Then, they were able to fulfill Jesus’ command to them to be missionaries throughout the world.

This Saturday, June 3rd, two men of the Diocese of Raleigh will be ordained to the priesthood at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Wake Forest.  They are Deacon Edisson de Jesús Urrego-Restrepo and Deacon James Joseph “Jimmy” Magee, III.  Please keep these men in your prayers.  The beginning of a new ordained priesthood is filled with many joys, but it is filled with an incredible amount of challenges also.  Pray that they will be good priests and joyful priests.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

–           Father Bob
