My Dear Friends,
This Sunday, Catholic Christians celebrate the beginning of a brand new church year with the First Sunday of Advent.
Advent is called the season of “joyful expectation.”  In the first two weeks of Advent, we focus on the coming of Jesus at the end of time.  In the second two weeks of Advent, we focus on the coming of Jesus as the Christ Child.  If you have an Advent wreath, now you light one purple candle.

This coming week, we will begin December, one of the most interesting and action-packed months of the year for Catholic parishes.

Among the highlights this month will present to us include our Advent Reconciliation Service on December 6th at 10:30 a.m.; the midnight Mass of Our Lady of Guadalupe on the night of Sunday, December 11/12; the exit of the Sisters of St. Ursula from St. Mary parish; Christmas Masses; and the coming of the New Year.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

–  Father Bob
