Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I am filled with joy that St. Mary School is into its second week this semester.
I want to thank our principal Mrs. Joyce Price and the SMS Health and Safety Task Force for their hard work on the School Opening Plan. They spent a lot of their time last summer diligently planning to ensure the safety of the students, teachers and staff. This plan is based on the directives from CDC, NCDHHS and the Diocese of Raleigh Schools office. With an excellent education, the health and safety of all is our top priority during the pandemic.
I was presented with the annual St. Mary Catholic School Yearbook 2019-2020. Mrs. Richelle Kimberling, Mrs. Sandy O’Leary and the students involved in this project did a fantastic job. The book is very creative and informative. Good work! Many thanks for putting it together.
This Saturday four children will be baptized. We will continue with First Communions. I am very happy for the children and their families.
The Gospel (Matthew 20:1-16a) reading this coming Sunday reminds us about our stages of faith. Some become Christians in early infancy, others later in life as teenagers, young adults, seniors and some on their deathbed. There are as many ways to God as there are people. Each way is unique. The promise is the same: eternal life with our loving God.
The last week of summer is upon us. Whatever your plans are, enjoy!
