Opening week went well. Typically, the week of Labor Day is our ‘reunion’ after being closed for the month of August – volunteers greeting each other, happy to reunite after our time off. This year is much more of a reunion; each day we had more volunteers come in, several whom were returning for the first time since the pandemic started. It was great to see the teams working together again.
Food donations kept coming in too – some treats from Apple Annies, non-perishable food brought into church over the weekend for Share Sunday, our school kids bringing in food after their Mass on Wednesday, and finally the food from the Knights of Columbus Food Drive on the weekend. These food donations restocked our shelves and we’re ready to serve those in need. Thank you to everyone that made donations and to those that helped gather them.
Special Need of the Week – towels, towels and more towels, all types. Our shelf is bare and towels are one of the most requested items.
