After a two week break, we are back at work with our “Curb Service”; we typically serve guests on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Initially, we do all the interviewing over the phone; once we agree on what we can provide to the guests, we make a date for them to pickup their goods. Our main focus is food, financial assistance, and diapers, but if they request other items, we do our best to accommodate them.
On their appointment day, we greet them at the front door and give them the items requested; everyone wears a mask and we follow safety procedures.
Speaking of food, one of our main sources for food is the Food Drives the Knights run for us. Due to the pandemic, they have not been able to have drives at the usual grocery stores. This coming weekend, they will be hosting a Drop-off Food Drive in our parking lot from 10am-2pm; we’d appreciate donations of non-perishable foods to help restock our shelves.
The Knights are also collecting coats for kids and adults. No other types of goods will be accepted at this time.
