My Dear Friends,
Today Catholic Christians celebrate the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, also known as Corpus Christi.  The purpose of the feast is to celebrate that part of Eucharist (Mass) that we call Holy Communion.  The gift of Jesus in the elements of bread and wine is something Catholic Christians have treasured and celebrated for more than 2,000 years.  In today’s Gospel reading from John, we hear Jesus tell us, “I am the bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world” (John 6: 51).

On this Sunday we also celebrate Father’s Day in the United States.  I wish all the dads and dads-to-be a most wonderful day.  Thank you for your most important vocation!  Be sure to pick up a small gift from our parish on your way out of church today!

Sincerely yours in Christ,

–           Father Bob
